Student Groups

Pema Osel Ling is a perfect place for non-profit and student groups. Our reasonable rates, flexibility, and a staff experienced in working with non-profits and their particular challenges and needs insure that your group will enjoy a successful event.

Pema Osel Ling is on 102 acres of redwood forests and meadows in the Santa Cruz Mountains, with mountain, forest, and ocean views. We have hiking trails, a swimming pool, plenty of fields to play in, the best biking in the county right up the road, and of coarse we are so close to the Santa Cruz beach boardwalk, and Capitola beach village.

We offer many wonderful outdoor spaces, several medium to large indoor gathering spaces, as well as indoor accommodations for up to 60-80 people depending on occupancy. We also have over 100 tent campsites in fields and forest, and we welcome RV's in our overflow parking area (no hookups).

We have a caterer who will be happy to provide your meal(s) for you if he is available, or you may opt to prepare them yourself in our industrial size kitchen.

The cost per person per day depends on occupancy, in other words it varies between $15 per person for camping to $25-$65 per person per night for lodging.

We are located in between Santa Cruz and San Jose off of Hwy 17 just thirty minutes from Santa Cruz and an hour and a half from San Francisco. There is a shuttle service, the Santa Cruz Airporter, that can bring your participants from either airport directly to Pema Osel Ling. Many groups also arrange to have participants ride-share from the airport with participants who are more local.

Please let us know if you have any further questions, and if you would like to schedule an appointment for a tour of our facilities and grounds. Also please give us your address if you would like me to send you our brochure. We look forward to the opportunity to host your group, and to assist you in any way we can in planning your event.

We host a wide variety of groups and individuals who choose to hold their event at Pema Osel Ling in support of our non-profit mission of bringing the Buddhist ideals of peace and compassion to the west and preserving the endangered Tibetan culture
